Chapter 11:  A Guide to Materials on The Protection of the Global Environment Available on the Internet

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) hosts a website at http://unfccc.int. This website includes text of the accords from the different Conference of the Parties, as well as numerous other resources. A text of the recent Marrakesh Accords can be found at http://unfccc.int/resource/docs/cop7/13.pdf. The UNFCCC provides official documents at http://unfccc.int/resource/docs.html. The Climate Convention secretariat also provides a website with access to the most recent documents and information of countries who are parties to the Convention on Climate change at http://unfccc.int/resource/convkp.html.

The Consortium on International Environmental Science Information Network (CIESIN) maintains an international environmental science and policy database with links to data provided by more than 50 nations at http://www.ciesin.org.

The Earth Negotiations Bulletin (ENB), produced by the International Institute for Sustainable Development, provides daily journalistic summaries of developments at the most important international environmental negotiations at http://www.iisd.ca/linkages.

The Equator Principles are being adopted by financial institutions worldwide to guide their investment in projects whose environmental and social risk is reasonable and sustainable. Information may be found at http://www.equator-principles.com/.

The Center for International Environmental Law provides general background information as well as valuable links for international environmental issues (http://www.ciel.org). Also, Natural Resource Defense Council provides briefs and reports pertaining to global warming at http://www.nrdc.org/globalwarming/default.asp.
